Elongation (Regular lay):
Very low permanent elongation, about 0.08% i.e. 1/6 - 1/8 of observed values of ropes with sisal core under similar conditions. Its high modulus of elasticity (11000/115000 MPa) enables an excellent achievement while working. (PLASTOLIFT - Lang A=0.15%)
Diameter:
Precise and stable due to a total technical control of each component. This property, combined with a very low elongation, assures uniform behavior of each rope in the set.
Endurance:
The contact pressure is the most significant factor in affecting the life span of elevator ropes.
• Contact Pressure: PLASTOLIFT's main advantage lies in the deformation capacity of its outer strands. This provides an increase of the contact surface of the combination rope/sheave, and a tremendous decrease of the pressure between all the components in contact.
• Construction: The careful and precise geometric assembly combined with adequate distribution of contact pressure characterising PLASTOLIFT assures an exceptionally long service life.
All tests (laboratory and service conditions) confirm that broken wires which are one of the removal criteria's are generated on the outer wires only. (The internal core remains intact).

Geometrical construction:
The specific geometric assembly between the wires of the steel core and the wires of the external strand allow for linear contact between wires. Based on this concept rope life is substantially longer compared with standard ropes. Experience and many tests confirm that even after the first broken wires shown on the outer strands, none were found in the steel core.
Lang's lay:
This concept gives the rope 2 main properties; High flexibility & Lower pressure in the grooves allowing increased fatigue resistance. NOTORLIFT is the only rotation resistant Lang's lay rope in the field of elevator ropes.
Rotation resistance:
Instantaneous sliding is very limited as rotation in the grooves is practically non-existant due to the balance between opposing torque of steel core and outer strands (T/t: driving fall/driven fall). This favorable behaviour is reinforced by a high modulus of elasticity (11500 daN/mm2)
Pressure in the grooves:
The figures below illustrate the adjustment of components during contact with the grooves in the case of NOTORLIFT. The 12 external strands give to NOTORLIFT the best form factor (roundness) among any products for this kind of use. This fact is helped by the Lang's lay closing (configuration of elliptic contact).
Diameter (0 +3%):
Precise geometric assembly of wires assures great accuracy and stability during service life. This property allows uniform behaviour of each rope in the set during years of use. The result increases reliability of the combination: sheave/rope.
Elongation:
- Very low permanent elongation, approximately 0.25% after 200,000 cycles and under heavy load.
- Best uniform tension between the ropes.
- High modulus of elasticity; E=11500 daN/mm2
- Reduced "sponge effect" during loading, accelerations/decelerations due to to a dense metallic cross section.
Lubrication - Maintenance:
- NOTORLIFT is internally lubricated during production. This lubrication is retained for a longer period due to the design of the rope.
- In view of the above, periodic external relubrication with a recommended product is sufficient. This can be done on a regular schedule or as needed based on visual inspection.
- The need to shorten or adjust ropes is substantially reduced due to the low stretch properties of NOTORLIFT.
